Todays’ video is all about the best email marketing platforms. This is a really really big can of worms to be opening, because there is so much in terms of email marketing platforms and so many autoresponders to pick from and really the key to picking an email marketing platform that’s perfect for your business (and incidentally there’s no such thing… I’ll explain in a minute) or as close to perfect for your business as possible is to focus on your business. Look at your business first. Don’t look at the autoresponder yet. What does your business need now? Do you have complex sales processes? In other words, do you need a CRM that syncs with the email marketing platform so they are all integrated and a part of the same system? Do you need to follow up with calls and have sales teams tap in or whatever? Well okay, If that’s the case you’re going to be looking at something along the lines of Infusionsoft (or now Keap), ActiveCampaign, Ontraport, or the myriad of stuff that’s set up to be more all-in-one email/CRM solution.
Now let’s say you’re a product creator, maybe a coach or consultant who’s got a much simpler sales funnel and follow up procedure then you could even use MailChimp (although that’s not my best recommendation anymore), you can use Aweber; I still feel Aweber’s a great company, great support team over at Aweber too in case you get stuck. It’s very, very simple but has improved it over the last 2 or 3 years dramatically. It’s still, in my opinion, lacking a little bit in terms of functionality compared to some of the others in the market, but a great, great place to stay if you want to build a list because you always feel that your subscriber list is safe with Aweber.
I use ConvertKit for a lot of what I do. I’ve used pretty much every known autoresponder and CRM system out there, and at the moment I don’t exclusively use ConvertKit, I do use ActiveCampaign for some stuff, but I love ConvertKit for the majority of what I do because I’m all about straight lines. As I’ve said in video’s in the past, the quickest way between to points is a straight line, so why do all the complicated stuff. You need something that’s going to deliver you a result predictably, day-in-day-out with a minimum of fuss, hassle, and programming from you. ConvertKit is a great company too, I got very much the same vibe from the team and Nathan Barry as I did with Aweber. So I thoroughly recommend ConvertKit if you are a creator, a coach or a consultant who’s not really got over-complicated sales funnels to worry about but wants a predictable result for there effort every single day.
If you’re in a place in your business where you are not sure whether or not you should progress to an Infusionsoft (keap), and Ontraport or ActiveCampaign or if you’re more at the AWeber or the ConvertKit level, here’s a great indicator… my advice would always be if you’re moving to one of these big automation platforms (the more expensive stuff) is in order to get the best out of them, you need to get them to set the stuff up for you, to migrate everything for you, and to get all of your processes and your sales systems in place for you and the reason is because if you don’t if you go into the systems and try to set them all up yourself, you will find that the time it takes you to master that system will be precious time that takes you away from that you should really be doing in your business. So, you’re going to pay more than the price of the software. It’s going to hurt your business.
Now be really honest with yourself, are you in a position to afford to pay however much it takes for those companies to set you up properly in their systems so you can just carry on with every day to do’s with whatever you do in your business? If the answer is yes, then you’re probably at the stage where you can consider that if indeed it will actually give you an improved ROI as a result of doing it, and that’s debatable in a lot of circumstances, because simple is better. If NOT, I suggest that you look at Aweber &ConvertKit.
